How to Connect to Your Necesse Server

Necesse servers are joined by address. There is no public browser, so the address is the only thing your players need.

Find your address

Open your server at https://panel.playnhost.com. The overview shows the IP and the assigned port, which is 14159 by default.

Join the server

1. Launch Necesse and select your character, or create one.
2. Choose Join server.
3. Enter the address as 203.0.113.10:14159, using your own IP and port.
4. Enter the password if one is set.
5. Connect.

Your character travels with you. Necesse characters are stored on your own machine and can be taken to any server.

What to send your friends

The address line and the password. Nothing else is needed unless the server runs mods, in which case they need those too.

If you cannot connect

• Check the panel console. Necesse logs the world loading and then reports the server is listening.
• Confirm the port matches the value on the server overview.
• A version mismatch after a game update is refused with a message. Restart the server so it pulls the new build.
• If the server runs mods, every player needs the same mods at the same versions. A mismatch is refused at the join.
