This article covers joining your PlayNHost Insurgency: Sandstorm server and what to give your players.
1. Find your server address
- Log in to the Client Area at https://playnhost.com/billing and open your Sandstorm service.
- Note the IP / Hostname and the ports. Sandstorm uses one port for the game and a second for the query that feeds the browser.
2. Start the server
- Open the server in the Game Panel at https://panel.playnhost.com and click Start.
- Watch the Console until the first scenario has loaded. A modded server downloads its mods before that happens.
3. Join from the community browser
- Launch Insurgency: Sandstorm.
- Open the community server browser.
- Search for your server name and clear the filters for full and password protected servers.
- Select it and join.
4. Join directly
- Open the console in game.
- Type
open 123.45.67.89:27102, using your own IP and the game port from your panel. - If the server has a password, add it as
open ip:port?Password=yourpassword.
This uses the game port, not the query port. Mixing them up is the usual reason a direct join fails.
5. What to give your players
- The server name for the browser.
- The
openline with the game port. - The password, if you set one.
- A note that a modded server sends its mods on join, so the first connection takes longer.
Open a ticket from Support in the Client Area with your IP, ports and the exact error if players cannot connect.
