How to Connect to Your The Front Server

The Front servers are found in the in-game browser. Your server also has beacon, query and shutdown ports allocated to it, which the game uses internally and players never enter.

Find your details

Open your server at https://panel.playnhost.com. The overview shows the IP and the ports assigned to SERVER_PORT, QUERY_PORT, BEACON_PORT and SHUTDOWN_PORT.

Find your server in game

1. Launch The Front and choose the multiplayer or server list option from the main menu.
2. Switch to the Community or custom server tab. A community hosted server does not appear in the official list.
3. Clear the filters, including the one that hides password protected servers and the ping limit.
4. Search for your server name as set in the server config.
5. Join, entering the password if one is set.

Favourite it

Mark the server as a favourite once you find it. The Front's list is slow to refresh, and a favourite avoids searching every time.

First start takes time

A new server generates its world and writes its config on the first boot. It is not listed until that is finished. Watch the panel console rather than the browser.

If you cannot connect

• Check the panel console for the server reporting it is ready.
• A version mismatch after a game update hides the server from updated clients. Restart the server so it pulls the new build.
• If the server is visible but the join fails, confirm the ports on the server overview have not been changed by hand in the config.
