How to Upload a Save to Your Satisfactory Server

A Satisfactory single player save works unchanged on a dedicated server. There are two ways to get it there, and one of them does not need the file manager at all.

Find your save on your PC

On Windows, saves are in:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\FactoryGame\Saved\SaveGames\<your id>\

Each save is a .sav file. The file name is the save name you see in game.

Method 1: upload from the Server Manager

1. Open the Server Manager in game and select your server.
2. Go to the Manage Saves tab.
3. Choose Upload Save and pick the .sav file.
4. When it finishes, select it and choose Load.

This is the easiest route and handles the folder location for you.

Method 2: upload through the panel

1. Stop the server.
2. In the panel open Files and go to:

   .config/Epic/FactoryGame/Saved/SaveGames/server/

3. Upload your .sav file there.
4. Start the server, open the Manage Saves tab in game, and load it.

Use this route for large saves, where an in-game upload can time out.

Switching between saves

Every save the server holds is listed under Manage Saves. Loading a different one takes effect immediately and the previous save is left untouched. Nothing is deleted unless you delete it.

Download a backup

1. In game, use Manage Saves and the download option, or
2. In the panel, open Files, go to the save folder above and download the .sav file.

Do this before any risky change, particularly before adding or removing mods. A Satisfactory save with mods in it will not load correctly once those mods are gone.

If the save does not appear

• Confirm the file has the .sav extension and was not renamed to .sav.txt by a browser.
• The server has to be restarted after a manual upload before it rescans the folder.
• A save created on a much newer game version will not load on an older server. Restart the server so it updates first.
