How to Become an Admin on Your RuneScape: Dragonwilds Server

RuneScape: Dragonwilds grants admin by password. Anyone who enters it becomes an admin until the password is changed, so treat it as a root password.

Set the admin password

1. Stop the server. Edits made while it runs are lost.
2. In the panel open Files and edit:

   RSDragonwilds/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/DedicatedServer.ini

3. Set:

   AdminPassword=a-long-password-here

4. Save and start the server.

Keep this different from WorldPassword, which is only the password to join.

Use it in game

1. Join the server.
2. Open the Pause Menu, then Settings.
3. Open the Server Management tab.
4. Enter the admin password.

You are treated as an admin from then until the admin password is changed.

The owner

OwnerId in the same file is your player ID, and it is required for the server to run at all. The owner is separate from password based admin, and it is what ties the server to you.

Your player ID is at the bottom of the in-game Settings menu.

Revoking admin

Because admin is a password rather than a list, the only way to take it away from someone is to change the password and restart the server. Do that whenever someone leaves your group.

The panel console

The Console section for your server is attached to the server process. It shows joins, leaves and errors, and it is the first place to look when an admin action does not behave as expected.

If the password is not accepted

• It is case sensitive and must match the config exactly.
• Confirm you set AdminPassword and not WorldPassword.
• The server must have been restarted after the change.
• If the change vanished, you edited while the server was running.
