Insurgency runs on the Source engine, so it is joined by address. The console command is the route that always works.
1. Find your server address
- Log in to the Client Area at https://playnhost.com/billing and open your Insurgency service.
- Note the IP / Hostname and Port. Source servers normally use 27015, and your service may use another port.
2. Turn on the developer console
- In the game, open Options and enable the developer console.
- Press ~ to open it.
3. Connect
- Type
connect 123.45.67.89:27015with your own address and press Enter. - If the server has a password, run
password yourpasswordin the console first.
4. Steam favourites
- Open the Steam client, click View, then Game Servers.
- On the Favorites tab click Add a Server and enter
IP:Port. - Select it and click Connect.
5. What to give your players
- The
connect IP:Portline, ready to paste. - The password, if you set one.
- The server name for the community browser.
If the connection is refused, check that sv_lan is 0 in insurgency/cfg/server.cfg and that the server is running. Open a ticket from Support in the Client Area with the console output if it continues.
