How to become an admin on your Eco server

Eco admins are listed by account ID in Users.eco. Player names do not work.

1. Get your account ID

• If you log in through Steam, you need your 17 digit Steam64 ID.
• If you log in with a Strange Loop Games account, you need your SLG ID.
• Both are printed in the server console when you connect, which is the easiest place to copy them from.

2. Add yourself to Users.eco

1. Stop the server in the Game Panel.
2. Open the Files tab and go to the Configs folder.
3. Open Users.eco. If it does not exist, create it from the template file in the same folder.
4. Add your ID to the Admins list, in quotation marks, separated by commas from any others.
5. Save and start the server.

The file is JSON style. A trailing comma after the last entry breaks the whole file and nobody gets admin.

3. Admin commands in game

• Open the chat and type a command starting with a slash.
• Admin commands cover spawning items, changing the time and weather, and managing players.
• Typing /help lists what your account is allowed to run, which is the quickest way to confirm your rights took effect.

4. The other lists

Users.eco also holds the whitelist, the ban list and the mute list. They use the same one ID per entry format. Remember that the whitelist only applies when a server password is set.

5. If admin does not work

• Check you used the ID and not the player name.
• Check the file is valid after your edit. The console reports a config error during boot.
• Restart the server. The file is read at boot.

Open a ticket from Support in the Client Area with your ID and the contents of Users.eco if commands are still refused.
