How to connect to your Counter-Strike: Source server

Counter-Strike: Source servers are joined by address. The console command is the quickest route and it never depends on the browser list.

1. Find your server address

1. Log in to the Client Area at https://playnhost.com/billing and open your CS: Source service.
2. Note the IP / Hostname and Port. Source servers normally use 27015, and your service may use another port.

2. Turn on the developer console

1. In Counter-Strike: Source, open Options, then Keyboard, then Advanced.
2. Tick Enable developer console and apply.
3. Press the ~ key to open it.

3. Connect

1. In the console, type connect 123.45.67.89:27015 using your own address.
2. Press Enter. The game loads the map and joins.
3. If the server has a password, run password yourpassword in the console first, then connect.

4. Add it to Steam favourites

1. Open the Steam client, click View, then Game Servers.
2. On the Favorites tab click Add a Server.
3. Enter IP:Port and add it.
4. Select it and click Connect.

5. What to give your players

• The connect IP:Port line, ready to paste.
• The password, if you set one.
• The server name for the in game browser.

If the connection is refused, check that the server is running in the panel and that sv_lan is set to 0 in server.cfg. Open a ticket from Support with the console output if it continues.
