How to connect to your Colony Survival server

This article covers joining your PlayNHost Colony Survival server and what to give your friends.

1. Find your server address

1. Log in to the Client Area at https://playnhost.com/billing and open your Colony Survival service.
2. Note the IP / Hostname and Port.
3. The same details are on the server dashboard in the Game Panel at https://panel.playnhost.com.

2. Start the server

1. Open the server in the Game Panel and click Start.
2. Watch the Console. The first start generates the world, which takes a few minutes and looks idle while it works.
3. Wait for the server to report that it is ready before joining.

3. Join from the game

1. Launch Colony Survival.
2. Choose Multiplayer.
3. Enter your server IP and Port in the direct connect fields.
4. Enter the password if one is set, then connect.

4. Finding it in the public list

Your server appears in the public list only if public listing is enabled in its settings. If you keep it off, everyone joins by address instead. See the settings guide in this category.

5. What to give your friends

• The IP and port.
• The password, if you set one.
• A note to be on the same game version. Steam updates their client automatically, so restart the server from the panel after a game update.

Open a ticket from Support in the Client Area with your IP, port and the exact error if players cannot connect.
