Mumble server settings you can change in murmur.ini

Mumble and voice serversUpdated Oct 6, 20263 min read

Your server's settings live in murmur.ini. Open Settings in the panel and choose murmur.ini under Config files, or edit the file in Files with the server stopped.

Set by the panel on every start

These are written each time the server starts. Change them in Game Settings, not in the file:

  • port and host
  • users (the slot limit from your plan)
  • welcometext
  • serverpassword (the Join Password)
  • registerName (the Server Name)
  • database and logfile

Settings worth knowing

SettingWhat it does

Good to know

  • Change settings with the server stopped and start it again.
  • A mistake in the file can stop the server starting. Back up first: How to back up and restore your Mumble server.
  • Do not change the port or the users line; they are reset at the next start.
