NewGRF files add vehicles, industries, towns and graphics to OpenTTD. This article explains how to add them to your PlayNHost server.
1. Get the files
- Most NewGRFs are published through OpenTTD's in-game content service or on bananas.openttd.org.
- Download the .grf files you want to your computer first.
2. Upload them
- Stop the server from the panel.
- Open the File Manager, or connect over SFTP with the details on your server page.
- Place the files in the newgrf folder.
3. Enable them
NewGRFs are recorded in the map, so they are chosen when the world is generated. The most reliable way to apply a new set is to start a new map with them enabled:
- Clear the save and save/autosave folders, keeping a download of anything you want.
- Start the server so it generates a fresh world.
4. Players need the same files
Anyone joining is offered the missing NewGRFs automatically if they are published on BaNaNaS. Files that are not published there have to be shared with your players by hand.
