How to become an admin on your Killing Floor 2 server

Killing Floor 2 admin access is a password. It unlocks admin commands in game and, if you enable it, a web based control panel.

1. Set the admin password

1. Stop the server in the Game Panel.
2. Open the Files tab and go to KFGame/Config.
3. In the KFGame config file, find the [Engine.AccessControl] section.
4. Set AdminPassword to something long, different from the game password.
5. Save and start the server.

2. Log in as admin in game

1. Join the server and press ~ to open the console.
2. Type adminlogin YourAdminPassword.
3. Admin commands are now available, including admin followed by a server command, and kicking players.

3. The web admin panel

Killing Floor 2 includes a web based admin panel, turned off by default.

1. Stop the server and open KFWeb.ini in KFGame/Config.
2. Set the option that enables the web admin to true.
3. The panel listens on its own port, separate from the game. It is only reachable if your service has a spare port allocated for it, which you can check on the server dashboard in the panel.
4. Start the server and open that address in a browser. Log in with the user name Admin and your admin password.

If no second port is allocated to your service, open a ticket and we will tell you whether one can be added.

4. What the web panel gives you

• Player list with kick and ban.
• Map and mode changes without editing files.
• Server settings, chat and the current game state.

5. If the password is refused

• Restart the server after changing it. The config is read at boot.
• Check you edited the config file for the platform your server runs.
• Check for a trailing space in the value.

Open a ticket from Support in the Client Area if the value is right and admin is still refused.
