HumanitZ reads all of its settings from one file, GameServerSettings.ini, inside the TSSGame folder on your server.
1. Open the file
- Stop the server in the Game Panel and wait for it to report offline. HumanitZ writes its settings on shutdown, so edits made while it runs are overwritten.
- Open the Files tab and browse to
TSSGame. - Open
GameServerSettings.ini.
2. The host settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
ServerName | The name in the browser. Do not use the word Official. |
Password | Password to join. Leave empty for an open server. |
AdminPassword | Password for admin access in game. |
MaxPlayers | Player slots. |
3. World and difficulty settings
The same file holds the gameplay rules, including zombie numbers and behaviour, loot amounts, day length and how much damage players take. Change one thing at a time and restart, so you can tell what each value actually did.
4. Save and restart
- Save the file.
- Start the server and read the console for the name it registered.
- Join once to confirm the password behaves as you expect.
5. The in game settings menu does not apply
The settings menu inside the game is for a locally hosted session. On a dedicated server it does nothing. Every change has to be made in GameServerSettings.ini with the server stopped.
If a value keeps reverting, that is the reason to check first. The second is that you edited while the server was running.
