How to connect to your Killing Floor 2 server

The Killing Floor 2 server browser is slow. Joining by address is faster and always works.

1. Find your server address

1. Log in to the Client Area at https://playnhost.com/billing and open your Killing Floor 2 service.
2. Note the IP / Hostname and the ports. Killing Floor 2 uses 7777 for the game by default and a separate query port.

2. Start the server

1. Open the server in the Game Panel at https://panel.playnhost.com and click Start.
2. Watch the Console until the map has loaded.

3. Join with the console

1. Launch Killing Floor 2.
2. Press the ~ key to open the console.
3. Type open 123.45.67.89:7777 with your own address and the game port.
4. If the server has a password, use open ip:port?Password=yourpassword.

4. Steam favourites

1. Open the Steam client, click View, then Game Servers.
2. On the Favorites tab click Add a Server and enter IP:QueryPort.
3. Select it and click Connect.

Steam favourites need the query port. The open command needs the game port. Mixing them up is the most common reason a join fails.

5. What to give your players

• The open IP:GamePort line, ready to paste.
• The query port for Steam favourites.
• The game password, if you set one.
• A link to your workshop collection, if you run custom maps, so they can subscribe in advance.

Open a ticket from Support in the Client Area with the console output if players cannot connect.
