How to Become an Admin on Your Myth of Empires Server

Myth of Empires grants admin, called GM, from a list of Steam IDs in the server configuration. Once you are on the list the commands are available in game.

Find your SteamID64

You need the 17 digit number beginning 7656119, not your display name. Read it from your Steam profile URL or paste your profile link into a SteamID lookup site.

Add yourself to the GM list

1. Stop the server. The config is rewritten on shutdown, so editing while it runs loses the change.
2. In the panel open Files and edit:

   MOE/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/GameUserSettings.ini

3. Find the GM account setting and add your SteamID64. For several admins, follow the separator style already used in the file.
4. Save and start the server.

Use the commands

Join the server and open the in-game console or chat, depending on your build, then use the GM commands. The ones you will use most often are:

• Listing connected players with their IDs.
• Kicking and banning by ID.
• Teleporting to a player or bringing a player to you, which is how most reports get resolved.
• Server broadcasts, for restart warnings.
• Item and resource spawning, for replacing something lost to a bug.

Command names are case sensitive.

RCON

Your server has an RCON port allocated to it, shown on the server overview. Note that Myth of Empires restricts RCON to connections from the server itself, so a remote RCON client will not be able to reach it. Use the panel Console section instead, which is attached directly to the server process.

If admin does not apply

• The server must be restarted. The list is read at startup.
• Check the SteamID64 for typos. The game does not report a bad ID.
• Check the separator between IDs matches the style used elsewhere in the file.
• If your change vanished, you edited while the server was running.
