Panel gierA server that runs but is invisible is usually a browser problem rather than a server problem. Work out which one you have before changing anything.
1. Prove it is joinable
At the main menu press tilde and run:
open YOUR_IP:YOUR_SERVER_PORTIf you get in, the server is fine and only the listing is missing.
2. Check the browser filters
- Community hosted servers appear in the community or custom list, not the official one.
- Clear the search box and reset the player count and ping filters.
- Untick the filters that hide empty and password protected servers, which describes most new servers.
3. Check the query port
The browser talks to QUERY_PORT, not SERVER_PORT. Both are allocated to your server and shown on the server overview. If a port was changed by hand in Game.ini, put it back and restart.
4. Read the startup in the console
Open Console in the panel and read from the top of the last start. Renown reports the map it is loading and names anything it could not resolve. A server that cannot load its map never finishes starting and therefore never registers.
5. Check the config was not overwritten
Game.ini is rewritten on shutdown. If you edited it while the server was running, your settings, including the server name, were lost. Stop, edit, start.
6. After a game update
A server on an old build is not shown to updated clients. Restart it so it pulls the new version, then read the console for settings it now rejects.
7. Set a distinctive name
An empty or default server name makes the server nearly impossible to find by search even when it is listed correctly.
Security check while you are in there
If this is a new server, confirm you have changed the default admin and RCON passwords. Leaving them on the shipped values is the most common way a Renown server is taken over.
What to send support
Open a ticket with your IP, your game and query ports, whether the direct connect works, and the first hundred lines of console output from a fresh start. Never include your RCON or admin password.
