Mindustry is configured from its own console rather than from a text file. The config command reads and writes every server option.
1. Open the console
- Open your server in the Game Panel and make sure it is running.
- Go to the Console tab. Everything below is typed there.
2. See and change settings
configon its own lists every setting and its current value.config name My Serversets the server name shown to players.config desc A short descriptionsets the description.config motdsets the message players see when they join.config portshows the port. Leave it alone, since it is set to match your allocation.
Settings are saved as soon as you set them and survive a restart.
3. Hosting and stopping
host <map> <mode>starts a game. Modes include survival, attack, sandbox and pvp.stopends the current game and leaves the server idle.gameoverends the round and moves to the next map.save <slot>andload <slot>handle save files.
4. Automatic hosting after a restart
The server does not automatically host a map after a restart unless it is told to. If you restart often, use the Schedules section of the panel to send the host command, or run it by hand after each start.
5. If a setting does not stick
- Run
configwith no arguments and read the value back. - Names with spaces work, but check the console echoed the whole name.
- Some settings only take effect when the next game is hosted. Run
stopthenhostagain.
Open a ticket from Support in the Client Area with the console output if a setting will not hold.
