A Mindustry server does nothing until you tell it to host a map. That catches most people out, so start there.
1. Find your server address
- Log in to the Client Area at https://playnhost.com/billing and open your Mindustry service.
- Note the IP / Hostname and Port. Mindustry uses 6567 by default, and your service may use another port.
2. Start the server and host a map
- Open the server in the Game Panel at https://panel.playnhost.com and click Start.
- Open the Console tab. A freshly started server is running but idle.
- Run
mapsto see what is available. - Run
hostwith a map name and a mode, for examplehost Ancient_Caldera survival. - The console confirms the map is hosting. Only now can players join.
3. Join from the game
- Launch Mindustry and choose Play, then Join Game.
- Use the option to add a server.
- Enter
IP:Portfrom your panel. - Select the server and join.
4. What to give your friends
- The
IP:Portaddress, which they add once and keep. - A note that mods must match if your server runs content mods.
5. If the server shows as offline in game
- Check the console. If no map is hosting, the server will not answer.
- Confirm the port matches the one in your panel.
- Check everyone is on the same Mindustry version. The client tells the player when the versions differ.
Open a ticket from Support in the Client Area with your IP, port and the console output if players still cannot connect.
