Discord bot hosting rules and fair use

Discord bot hostingUpdated Oct 6, 20263 min read

Bot plans are cheap because most bots use very little. These rules keep that true for everyone.

Not allowed

  • Crypto mining or any other work that uses the CPU for something other than running a bot.
  • Spam or scraping: bots that send unwanted messages, collect data from people who did not agree to it, or break the rules of the sites they read.
  • Selfbots: programs that log in with a normal user account's token instead of a bot token. Discord does not allow this, and it can get the account banned.
  • Port scanners, DDoS or stress tools, or anything used to attack other systems.
  • Proxies, VPNs or tunnels that carry other people's traffic.
  • Anything illegal where you live or where the server is.

What we limit

Every plan has a memory limit, a CPU share, a disk limit and one network port. Sending email directly from the server is blocked, so use a mail service's own web interface or API if your bot sends emails.

What happens if a rule is broken

We suspend the server and tell you why. Where the rule was broken by mistake, we help you fix it and turn the server back on. Repeated or serious cases end the service.

What we support

We keep the platform running and fix problems with it. We do not debug your bot's code, but the guides cover the common setups.
