How to change your Clone Hero server name and password

The Clone Hero standalone server reads its name, password and limits when it launches. There is no in game settings menu for a dedicated server, so all of this is done in the panel and applied by a restart.

1. Stop the server

1. Open your server in the Game Panel.
2. Click Stop and wait for it to report offline.

2. Change the values

1. Open the Startup page for your server. It is not linked in the sidebar, so add /startup to the end of your server's panel address.
2. Set the server name, the password and the player limit in the fields shown there.
3. If your server also keeps a settings file, it is in the Files tab in the server root. Values set at launch win over the file, so change them in the same place each time rather than splitting them between the two.

3. Start and confirm

1. Click Start.
2. Read the Console. The server prints the name it started with.
3. Join once yourself to confirm the password behaves as you expect.

4. Notes

• Leave the port alone. It is set to the port allocated to your service, and changing it takes the server off the network.
• An empty password means anyone with the address can join. On a public server, set one.
• The name is only a label. Players still connect with the address, not by searching for the name.
