Insurgency: Sandstorm server is not listed or mods will not load

Sandstorm problems come down to ports, scenario names and mod.io. Work through these in order.

1. Prove the server works

In game, open the console and run open IP:GamePort with the details from your panel. If that connects, the server is healthy and the problem is the browser.

2. The browser uses the query port

• The community browser reads the query port, which is a different number from the game port.
• Both are shown in your panel. Do not change either in the config, since they are set to match your allocation.
• Give a newly started server a few minutes before expecting it in the list.

3. The scenario will not load

• Scenario names carry both the map and the mode and must be exact. A typo in MapCycle.txt makes the server skip that entry.
• Read the console for the scenario the server actually loaded.
• A modded scenario only works once the mod has downloaded and the server has travelled to it.

4. Mods will not download

1. Check bHasUserAcceptedTerms=True is present in the mod client section of GameUserSettings.ini. Without it, nothing downloads and the reason is easy to miss.
2. Check the access token is complete. These tokens are long and are often cut short when pasted.
3. Check the mod IDs in Mods.txt, one per line with nothing else.
4. Read the console. Each mod is named as it downloads, and a failure names the ID.

5. Admin commands are refused

Check Admins.txt is in Insurgency/Config/Server and holds one Steam64 ID per line. Restart after editing, since it is read at boot.

6. Config changes vanish

Stop the server before editing. The game rewrites its saved config on shutdown, so edits made while it runs are lost.

Open a ticket from Support in the Client Area with the last 50 lines of console output if none of this fits.
