How to change battle mode, day length and view distance on your Veloren server

Veloren's server reads all of its settings from one file, and PlayNHost writes that file from your server page every time the server starts.

1. Open your settings

1. Log in at https://panel.playnhost.com and open your Veloren server.
2. Go to the Startup page at /startup on your server.

2. What each setting does

• Battle Mode: pvp lets players fight each other, pve stops that everywhere, and per_player lets each player choose.
• Day Length: how many minutes a full in-game day takes, from 1 to 240.
• Max View Distance: the furthest the server will stream world to a player. Lower it if a busy server feels heavy.
• Max Group Size: how many players can be in one party.
• Auth Enabled: whether Veloren accounts are required to join.

3. Apply the change

1. Save your changes.
2. Stop the server, then Start it.

The console prints the settings it applied as the server starts, so you can confirm the change landed.

Editing settings.ron by hand

You can open userdata/server/server_config/settings.ron in the file manager, but the launcher rewrites it on every start. Anything you change there by hand is replaced on the next restart. Use the server page instead.
