How to Connect to Your Multi Theft Auto Server

Multi Theft Auto servers are joined by IP and port from the MTA client. Your server also has a separate HTTP port, which the client uses to download resources, and which players never type in.

Find your address

Open your server at https://panel.playnhost.com. The overview shows the IP and the ports assigned to SERVER_PORT and SERVER_WEBPORT. Players connect on SERVER_PORT, which is 22003 by default.

Quick Connect

1. Open the MTA:SA client.
2. Go to Quick Connect.
3. Enter the host as 203.0.113.10 and the port as 22003, using your own values.
4. Enter the password if one is set, then connect.

You can also join from a browser address bar with mtasa://203.0.113.10:22003, which is the link format to paste into Discord.

Find it in the server browser

1. In the MTA client, open Browse Servers and the Internet tab.
2. Search for your server name.
3. If it is not there, the server may not be advertising itself. See our troubleshooting guide.

The Favourites tab is more reliable. Add the server there once and it stays.

The first join downloads resources

MTA downloads the server's scripts, models and sounds to the client when you connect. On a large gamemode this takes a while the first time, and the download runs over the HTTP port. It is not a hang.

If you cannot connect

• Check the panel console. MTA logs each resource as it starts, then reports the server is ready.
• Confirm you used SERVER_PORT and not the web port.
• If the connection succeeds but the download stalls, the HTTP port is the problem. Confirm it matches the value on the server overview.
• A client on an older MTA version is refused if the server sets a minimum client version. Update the client.
