How to connect to your Don't Starve Together server

Don't Starve Together has a search list and a direct connect command. The command is the one to use when the list will not cooperate.

1. Find your server address

1. Log in to the Client Area at https://playnhost.com/billing and open your Don't Starve Together service.
2. Note the IP / Hostname and Port. The port you need is the one the Master shard listens on.

2. Start the server

1. Open the server in the Game Panel at https://panel.playnhost.com and click Start.
2. Watch the Console. On a cluster with caves, both shards start and the console reports when the caves shard has connected to the master.

3. Search the server list

1. Launch the game and choose Browse Games.
2. Type your cluster name in the search box.
3. Clear the filters, especially the ones for mods and for servers with friends.
4. Select the server and join, entering the password if one is set.

4. Join directly with the console

1. At the main menu, press the ~ key to open the console.
2. Type c_connect("123.45.67.89", 10999, "yourpassword") using your own address and port. Leave the password out if the server has none.
3. Press Enter. The game connects without touching the list.

5. What to give your friends

• The cluster name for the search box.
• The full c_connect line, ready to paste.
• The password, if you set one.
• A note to subscribe to the same mods if the server runs client side mods.
