Game PanelAvorion settings belong to the galaxy, not the server install. They are in server.ini inside the galaxy folder.
1. Find server.ini
- Stop the server in the Game Panel. Avorion rewrites this file when it starts and stops, so editing a running server achieves nothing.
- Open the Files tab and browse into the galaxies folder, then into your galaxy folder.
- Open
server.ini. Alongside it you will see the admin list, the ban list and the galaxy data itself.
If there is no galaxy folder yet, start the server once and stop it again. It is created on the first run.
2. The settings you will change

Each setting has to stay under its own section header. A line moved to the wrong section is ignored without an error.
3. Save and restart
- Save the file.
- Start the server and check the console for the name it loaded.
4. Starting a new galaxy
The galaxy name is a startup value, so it is set on the Startup page of your server. That page is not linked in the sidebar, so open your server in the panel and add /startup to the end of the address. Pointing the server at a galaxy name that does not exist creates a brand new one and leaves the old galaxy folder untouched, which makes this the safe way to start fresh.
5. If a setting does not stick
- The server was running when you saved. Stop it first.
- You edited a
server.iniin a galaxy the server is not loading. Check the galaxy name on the Startup page. - Read the console during boot. It reports the galaxy it opened.
Open a ticket with the setting name and the value you want if it still will not hold.
