RedM servers are joined from the RedM client. The quickest route is the client console, which takes a single line and works before the server is listed.
Find your address
Open your server at https://panel.playnhost.com. The overview shows the IP and the assigned port, which is 30120 by default.
Join from the console
- Launch RedM.
- Press F8 to open the console.
- Type:
using your own IP and port.connect 203.0.113.10:30120
This is the line to give your players. It works whether or not the server has appeared in the list yet.
Find it in the server list
- Open the RedM client and use the server list.
- Search for your server name as set by
sv_hostnameinserver.cfg. - Favourite it so you do not have to search again.
A server appears in the list only when it has a valid licence key and has finished starting. See our troubleshooting guide if it never shows.
The first join downloads resources
RedM downloads the server's resources to your client on connect. On a large roleplay server this is a long first join and a much shorter one afterwards. It is not a hang.
If you cannot connect
- Check the panel console. RedM logs each resource starting and then reports the server is ready.
- Confirm you used the port from the server overview.
- Connecting to server, then a timeout usually means a resource failed to start. The console names it.
- An out of date RedM client is refused. Restart the client so it updates.
