This article covers joining your PlayNHost Barotrauma server and what address to give your crew.
1. Find your server address
- Log in to the Client Area at https://playnhost.com/billing and open your Barotrauma service.
- Note the IP / Hostname and Port.
- The same details appear on the server dashboard in the Game Panel at https://panel.playnhost.com.
Use the port from the panel. Barotrauma also has a query port setting in its config file, but the port your players type is the one shown in the panel.
2. Start the server
- Open the server in the Game Panel and click Start.
- Watch the Console until the server reports it has started and is listening.
3. Join by IP
- Launch Barotrauma.
- Choose Join Server from the main menu.
- Type your server address into the direct join field as
IP:Port. - Click join and enter the password if one is set.
4. Find it in the server list
- Open the Join Server screen and let the list load.
- Search for your server name.
- Clear the filters for full servers and password protected servers while you look.
Your server only appears in the list if it is set to public in serversettings.xml. A private server is joined by IP.
5. What to give your crew
- The
IP:Portaddress. - The server password, if you set one.
- The list of mods, if the server runs any. Barotrauma tells clients which packages are required, and they need to have them enabled to play.
If a player is refused, check the player limit and confirm they are on the same game version. Open a ticket from Support with the exact error if it continues.
