Mumble has no admin button in the app. Admin rights come from the built-in SuperUser account, and you then give your own account the same power through a group.
1. Set the SuperUser password
In the panel open Settings, Game Settings and fill in SuperUser Password. Letters, numbers, dot, dash and underscore only. Restart the server. If you leave it empty, the server makes its own random password and prints it once in Console when it starts. The SuperUser password is the key to everything, so keep it private.
2. Log in as SuperUser
In the Mumble app choose Server, Connect, add or pick your server and set the username to SuperUser. Enter the SuperUser password when asked. You can now edit every channel.
3. Register your own account
Connect again with your normal username (for example Alex).
Right-click your own name and choose Register. This reserves your name and ties it to your certificate.
4. Give your account admin rights
Reconnect as SuperUser.
Right-click the Root channel and choose Edit.
Open the Groups tab and create a group named admin. Add your registered name as a member.
Open the ACL tab and click Add. Set Group to admin, leave it applying to this channel and sub-channels, and tick Allow on all permissions.
Click OK.
From now on your account has admin power in every channel, and you can log in as yourself.
Good to know
Only registered users can be group members. Ask each helper to register first.
Use the SuperUser login only for setup or recovery.
If you lose your certificate you lose the registered account. Back it up in the Mumble app under Configure, Certificate Wizard.
