How to connect to your Craftopia server

Craftopia can be joined in two ways, and which one works depends on a single setting on the server. This article covers both.

1. Find your server address

1. Log in to the Client Area at https://playnhost.com/billing and open your Craftopia service.
2. Note the IP / Hostname and Port. Craftopia uses 6587 by default, and your service may use another port.

2. Start the server

1. Open the server in the Game Panel at https://panel.playnhost.com and click Start.
2. Watch the Console until the world has loaded.

3. Join by address

1. Launch Craftopia.
2. Choose Multiplayer, then the option to join by address.
3. Enter your server IP and Port.
4. If the server has a password, enter it. Craftopia passwords are numeric, up to eight digits.

This only works when the Steam lobby option is turned off on the server. With the lobby enabled, the server does not listen on the port and there is nothing to connect to.

4. The Steam lobby option

• isUseSteamLobby set to 0 means players join by IP and port. This is what you want on a rented server.
• Set to 1, the server publishes a Steam lobby instead and players join through Steam rather than by address.

5. What to give your friends

• The IP and port.
• The numeric password, if you set one.
• A reminder to be on the same game version. Restart the server after a game update so it updates too.

Open a ticket from Support in the Client Area with your IP, port and the error text if players cannot connect.
