What is direct connection?
It lets your players connect straight to the server address rather than going through an invite code. It is on by default here, which is what you want from a rented server, and it is a panel field if you prefer to run invite only.
Can I set a password?
Yes, there is a server password field in the panel. Combine it with direct connection and you have a private world with a fixed address.
How many players does Windrose support?
The plans here run four, six and eight. Windrose is a co-op game for a small group, so those are the useful sizes rather than an artificial cap.
What is the server FPS setting?
It sets how often the server ticks. Sixty is the default and is right for almost everyone. Lowering it reduces CPU use at the cost of responsiveness, which is rarely a trade worth making.
Does it update itself?
Automatic updates are on by default, so the server takes the current build when it starts.
