How to become an admin on your Mindustry server

Mindustry admin rights are granted from the server console, so the panel is all you need.

1. Have the player join

The server can only grant rights to a player it has seen. Ask them to connect and stay connected.

2. Grant admin

1. Open the Console tab in the Game Panel.
2. Run players to list who is connected, with their names and IDs.
3. Run admin add followed by the player name or ID.
4. The console confirms the change. It persists across restarts.

To take it away, run admin remove with the same name or ID.

3. Moderation commands

• kick <player> removes someone from the current game.
• ban <player> and unban handle longer term problems.
• bans lists the current bans.
• say <message> sends a message to everyone from the server.

4. What admin gives a player

An admin can moderate from inside the game, including kicking and voting, without needing the panel. Everything they can do, you can also do from the console, so you never need to be in game to sort out a problem.

5. If the grant does not work

• Names are exact. Copy the name from the players output rather than typing it.
• A player who has never connected cannot be granted rights.
• Read the console reply. It says plainly whether the player was found.

Open a ticket from Support in the Client Area with the console output if a grant is confirmed but does nothing in game.
