This article covers joining your PlayNHost Arma 3 server and what to send to your group.
1. Find your server address
- Log in to the Client Area at https://playnhost.com/billing and open your Arma 3 service.
- Note the IP / Hostname and Port. Arma 3 normally uses game port 2302, and the query port is the game port plus one.
2. Start the server
- Open the server in the Game Panel at https://panel.playnhost.com and click Start.
- Watch the Console until it reports the mission or the mission selection lobby is ready.
3. Direct connect from the launcher
- Open the Arma 3 Launcher.
- Load the same mod preset your server runs, if any.
- Go to Servers, then Direct Connect.
- Enter the IP and the Port from your panel, plus the password if one is set.
- Click Connect.
4. Direct connect from inside the game
- Start Arma 3 and choose Multiplayer.
- Click Direct Connect at the bottom of the server browser.
- Enter the IP and port and connect.
Adding the server to your favourites in the browser keeps it one click away afterwards.
5. What to give your group
- The IP and port.
- The server password if you set one, which is separate from the admin password.
- The mod preset. In the launcher you can export your mod list as a preset file and share it, which is far more reliable than a list of names.
If a player connects and is dropped immediately, the usual cause is a mod or signature mismatch. See the troubleshooting guide in this category.
