Do players need to buy the game?
No. Operation: Harsh Doorstop is free to play, so anyone you invite can download it and join. That is the main reason communities grow faster on it than on paid shooters.
How many slots should I take?
Twenty is a squad night. Thirty five is a healthy community server where a match fills without waiting. Sixty five is a large public server, and it wants the 16GB tier to hold that many players on the bigger maps.
Is RCON available?
Yes. RCON is enabled with its own port, and the password, maximum connections and maximum auth attempts are all panel fields. That is what admin tools and Discord bots connect to.
Does the server update itself?
Automatic updates are on by default. Operation: Harsh Doorstop is in active development, so this matters more than usual. You can turn it off in the panel if a community mod needs you to hold a version.
Can I edit the server configuration?
Yes. Server name is a panel field, and the rest of the configuration lives in the server's own files, which you get through the web file manager and over SFTP.
